<p>The method involves determining characteristics of distance signals of an object (2) by sensors e.g. ultrasonic park assist (UPA) sensors, where the object limits a parking spot (1). The detection of an edge of the object is verified based on a road curb signal, where the characteristics of the distance signals of the object and characteristics of the distance signals of a road curb (3) are considered for verification of the edge detection. An edge course of the object is determined based on the characteristics of the distance signals of the object. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a driver assistance system comprising ultrasonic sensors for measuring and detecting objects (2) a computer program product stored at a computer readable medium comprising program unit for executing an object edge detecting method.</p> |
