[Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVI] An adjustable connecting link C between a power transmitting pin 18 and a foot-treadle 8, 9 comprises a bar-member 14 provided with studs 30 selectively fitting into apertures 31 in a channel-member 32, these two members being surrounded by a sliding sleeve 33 which locks the two members in position. The sleeve 33 is notched at 35 to form resilient fingers 36 acting as a friction device. Resiliency is provided by coil springs 16 and 17, or alternatively, by oppositely bowed leaf-springs, attached as shown in a looped extension 15a of the connecting element. The lower end of the channel-member 32 is adapted to receive a ball-stud 13 on which bears a spring-pressed friction shoe 44. |
