Methods and apparatus for automated information entry in a wireless device may include receiving an input of a sequence of characters. In addition, the methods and apparatus may include identifying a location-related context based on at least a portion of the sequence of characters and obtaining location information of the wireless device in response to identifying the location-related context. The methods and apparatus may also include obtaining a set of one or more landmark information corresponding to the location information of the wireless device and obtaining directional information relative to selected landmark information. The method and apparatus may also include adding the directional information with the selected landmark information to the sequence of characters.

1. A method of automated information entry in a wireless device, comprising:
receiving, at a user interface of the wireless device, an input of a sequence of characters; identifying a location-related context based on at least a portion of the sequence of characters; obtaining location information of the wireless device in response to identifying the location-related context; obtaining a first set of landmark information within a first range of the location information of the wireless device; determining whether a number of search results for the obtained first set of landmark information meets a search result threshold; receiving selected landmark information from the first set of landmark information in response to a determination that the number of search results meets the search result threshold; obtaining directional information relative to the selected landmark information, wherein the directional information includes one or more of a direction or a distance of the wireless device from the selected landmark information; and adding the directional information with the selected landmark information to the sequence of characters.
