The present invention relates to a system and a method for managing a submarine cable using a magnetic maker system. The system for managing a submarine cable using a magnetic maker system comprises: a submarine cable having a plurality of magnetic markers which are attached thereto and comprise a global positioning system (GPS) receiver to receive location information of an underwater installation point and generate a magnetic force of a prescribed intensity or higher to display the underwater installation point; and a submarine cable management device to manage the submarine cable. The submarine cable management device comprises: a magnetic detector to measure an intensity of a recognized magnetic force to detect a location of a specific magnetic marker among the plurality of magnetic markers attached to the submarine cable; an integrated sensor unit to receive location information of an installation point of the specific magnetic marker whose location is detected through the GPS receiver disposed on the specific magnetic marker; a control unit to analyze the location information received through the integrated sensor unit to calculate the location of the installation point of the specific magnetic marker, and link the calculated location to map data to output a processing result processed to display the specific magnetic marker on a map; and a display unit to display the installation location of the specific magnetic marker on the map according to the processing result outputted from the control unit.
