1. A method for treating a knee joint, comprising:
locating a Blumensaat's line of a femur; positioning a guide relative to Blumensaat's line, wherein the guide includes a plurality of concentric rings or arcs; positioning a first base member relative to the guide and attaching the first base member to the exterior of the femur; positioning and attaching a second base member to the exterior of the tibia; and configuring an energy manipulation structure between the first and second base members outside of the joint wherein the energy manipulation structure off-loads forces at the joint.
