Disclosed is a boosting circuit having a driving frequency varying by adapting to a load. The boosting circuit according to the present invention comprises: a boosting circuit part for outputting an output voltage by boosting an input voltage; an I/V converter for converting a value of an electric current, which comes into the voltage input terminal of the boosting circuit part, into a voltage value; a comparator for comparing the output of the I/V converter with a comparative reference voltage; and a variable frequency generator for varying a driving frequency for driving a switch of the boosting circuit part by being controlled by the output of the comparator. An electric current distributor is installed between the I/V converter and the input terminal to distribute the value of the electric current, which comes into the input terminal, and provide the value of the electric current to the I/V converter. Also, a controller is installed to control the electric current distributor to operate if an input voltage is greater than a reference input voltage. Accordingly, power consumption efficiency can be improved by varying the frequency of a driving clock while adapting to the presence or size of a load. Particularly, an additional circuit is unnecessary and accuracy is excellent compared with the case of using the value of a voltage as the value of the input electric current is used to adaptively vary a frequency. |
