1. A method for producing nanoscale particles, comprising:
a) preparing a composition consisting essentially of a hydrolyzable metal compound, at least one ionic liquid, and at least one compound having at least one hydroxyl group, wherein a water content of the at least one compound having at least one hydroxyl group is between 0.1 and 10%, measured in % by weight; b) treating the composition under heat and superatmospheric pressure; and c) isolating the nanoscale particles, wherein the ionic liquid is a liquid at a temperature below 100° C. |
