PATTERN RECOGNITION METHOD AND APPARATUS WITHIN TERMINAL

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for recognizing a pattern in a user terminal. The method for recognizing a pattern in a user terminal includes the steps of: (a) obtaining the best matching distance by calculating dynamic time matching with respect to an input sequence and a best training sequence; (b) calculating the minimum reference distance by using a value of deference between a candidate training sequence, included in a tainting sequence group, and the input sequence; (c) obtaining an accumulative matching distance by calculating dynamic time matching of the input sequence and the candidate training sequence if the accumulative reference distance is less than the best matching distance; (d) updating the candidate training sequence with the best training sequence and updating the accumulative matching distance with the best matching distance if the accumulative matching distance is less than the best matching distance; and (e) recognizing a pattern of the input sequence in a pattern corresponding to the finally updated best training sequence by repeatedly performing step (b) to step (d) with respect to each candidate training sequence included in the training sequence group.
