PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing for a light source in which a flow of wind can be changed in compliance with a mounting orientation of an image projection device, instability in operation of an opening or closing mechanism for changing a flow passage is eliminated, and an upper part of a light source lamp inner valve can be cooled in a stable manner.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a housing 60 for a light source to which a light source lamp 30 having a light emitting tube 32 and a reflector 31 is fixed. The housing for a light source comprises a pair of flow passages 62a, 62b branched from a suction port 61 for feeding cooling wind into an upper part and a lower part of the light emitting tube, and a flow passage opening or closing means for releasing the flow passage positioned at an upper side of the light emitting tube of the pair of flow passages and closing the flow passage positioned at a lower side of the light emitting tube, and a discharging port 64 for discharging to the outside of the reflector, cooling wind fed from the flow passage positioned at the upper side of the released light emitting tube into the reflector. |
