PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal interface that can be connected to a detector of an arbitrary type and allows for communication of change of status between the detector and a monitoring-control unit of equipment without having to adapt the monitoring-control unit of equipment.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a universal interface INT configured between a detector D and a monitoring-control unit of equipment, and the universal interface comprises: a connector 40 with four input connection points to be connected to the detector and notably including a connection point designed to be connected to a first output unit of the detector for receiving a first detector output signal S1_D and another connection point designed to be connected to a second output unit of the detector for receiving a second detector output signal S2_D; and a processing unit UC that converts each detector output signal S1_D and S2_D into binary information which is to be sent to the monitoring-control unit of equipment and which is representative of a switched status or of a non-switched status of each output unit of the detector D.
