PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the stable conveyance of a medium when a guide route is switched by a switching guide.SOLUTION: A medium conveying device comprises a fixing member fixed to a device body, and a switching guide for guiding a medium, which is provided rotatably with respect to the device body, and takes a first or a second guide position in a freely switchable manner. The switching guide comprises a medium guide part and a first engaging part formed integrally with the medium guide part. The fixing member comprises a second engaging part to be engaged with the first engaging part. When the switching guide is placed at the first guide position, the first engaging part and the second engaging part are engaged with each other. Because the first engaging part and the second engaging part are engaged with each other when the switching guide is placed at the first guide position, it is possible to restrict the movement of the first engaging part. When a guide route is switched by the switching guide along the switching guide, the medium can be conveyed stably. |
