PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saving image forming apparatus configured to prevent leakage of developer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a suction duct 31 having one end arranged near a developing unit 11 and including a plurality of bent sections 32, 33; a collection box 40 connected to the other end of the suction duct 31, having a suction fan 46, and sucking developer near the developing unit 11 via the suction duct 31 by means of the suction fan 46 to collect it; a plurality of auxiliary fans 55a, 55b arranged for each of the bent sections 32, 33 of the suction duct 31, to discharge air into the bent sections 32, 33; and control means 60 which controls operation of the auxiliary fans 55a, 55b. The control means 60 controls the auxiliary fan 55a in the bent section 33 located upstream of the suction duct 31 to be started earlier when the auxiliary fans 55a, 55b are started. |
