<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic material whose internal hardness and surface hardness are improved in a well balanced manner, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: Metal powder comprising titanium particles, titanium alloy particles, or a mixture of these is subjected to a nitriding treatment under a condition in which no nitride is generated, to obtain nitrided powder in which nitrogen atoms are dispersed in a structure of the titanium particles or a structure of the titanium alloy particles, or both structures of the titanium particles and the titanium alloy particles. The nitrided powder is molded and sintered. Thus, a metallic material is obtained which has a three-dimensional network structure including titanium, a titanium alloy, or a mixture of these and comprising a diffusion layer in which nitrogen atoms are dispersed in a structure of grain boundary between crystal grains of the titanium, the titanium alloy, or both of the titanium and the titanium alloy.</p> |
