PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently collect volatile organic compound containing siloxane gas generated in a fixing apparatus, while reducing cost and ensuring maintainability.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a transfer section 29 for transferring a toner image to a sheet-like recording material P; a fixing section 40 which heats the toner image transferred to the recording material P by the transfer section 29, to fix it on the recording material P; a duct 101 having one end located near the fixing section 40; a blower fan 102 for supplying the air in the duct 101 from the one end toward the other end; first and second electrodes 106, 107 arranged in the duct 101 and configured to be brought into contact with or separated from each other; and a drive section 120 which drives at least one of the first and second electrodes 106, 107 so that the first and second electrodes 106, 107 are brought into contact with or separated from each other alternately. |
