PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump capable of reducing collision sounds during closing a suction valve.SOLUTION: A high-pressure fuel pump uses a spring 35 for energizing a suction valve 21 to the valve-opening side, and electrifies a coil 34 for attracting a movable core 33 to the side of a stator core 32 to close the suction valve 21 so that it performs fuel pressurizing operation. When closing the suction valve 21, as the flow rate of the fuel flowing from a fuel pressurizing chamber to a low-pressure side fuel passage is higher, the coil 34 is less electrified. This inhibits energizing force on the suction valve 21 to the valve-closing position side from being greater than necessary, and reduces each of the impact force of the movable core 33 when colliding with the stator core 32 and the impact force of the suction valve 21 when colliding with a valve seat 22b to reduce the collision sounds. |
