PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a lock-releasing operation and a lock recovery operation of a lock member of a lock mechanism in a variable valve timing mechanism to be performed in a superior response manner by a simple configuration.SOLUTION: There is provided a pump control device in which an oil pump is applied by a variable oil pump and a target hydraulic pressure control for controlling an oil discharging amount of the variable oil pump is executed in such a way that a detected hydraulic pressure detected by a hydraulic sensor may become a target hydraulic pressure preset in response to an operating state of an engine, the pump control device executes a discharging amount increasing control (a step S23) for increasing an oil discharging amount of the variable oil pump in place of the target hydraulic pressure control when the lock releasing of the lock member of the lock mechanism is carried out or when the lock recovery operation of the lock member is carried out under a specified operation of the engine (when a judgment at a step S22 is YES). |
