PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forged component and production method thereof in which the crystal grain coarsening can be suppressed even when subjected to pressure-reduced high-temperature carburization treatment at a carburization temperature exceeding 1050°C.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a forged component that is subjected to pressure-reduced high-temperature carburization treatment at carburization temperature exceeding 1050°C, in which a mother material for forging containing C: 0.10 to 0.30%, Si: 0.03 to 1.50%, P: 0.035% or less, S: 0.035% or less, Mn: 0.30 to 1.50%, Cr: 0.30 to 3.00%, Al: 0.030 to 0.100%, N: 0.0150 to 0.0250%, Nb: 0.08 to 0.12%, and Mo: 0 to 0.80% and the remainder composed of Fe and inevitable impurities, is prepared, the mother material for forging is heated to 1300°C or more and the mother material for forging is hot forged at hot forge temperature of 1230°C or more without cooling the same below 1230°C to make a forged component, and a precipitation heat treatment to promote the precipitation of carbonitride by retaining the forged component at temperature of 620 to 1000°C for 30 minutes or more, is carried out. |
