The present invention relates to a resin composition for manufacturing an insulation material, which comprises: (A) 40-50 wt% of a polyolefin-based resin or a base resin composed of derivatives thereof; (B) 40-50 wt% of a magnesium hydroxide flame retardant agent surface-treated with vinyl silane; (C) 1-2 wt% of an antioxidant mixed with the weight ratio of 1:1-3 of a first antioxidant and a second antioxidant; (D) 0.5-2 wt% of a lubricant; (E) 2-3 wt% of organic silane; (F) 0.05-0.2 wt% of an initiator; and (G) 1-4 wt% of a catalyst. According to the present invention, a resin composition can be manufactured for covering a wire or as an insulation material for covering a wire. The resin composition has excellent material properties such as flame resistance, oil resistance, tensile strength, etc., which is capable of satisfying the heat resistant temperature of 150°C (CLASS IV).
