PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting line and a component mounting method that can prevent reduction of productivity of one of substrate feeding lanes even when the substrate feeding operation of the other substrate feeding lane stagnates.SOLUTION: Each component mounting device 6 feeds a first type substrate 2 having a first pattern PT1 printed thereon to a first substrate feeding lane 72a to perform a component mounting related work on the substrate 2, and feeds a second type substrate 2 having a second pattern PT2 printed thereon to a second substrate feeding lane 72b to perform a component mounting related work on the substrate 2. A screen print device 5 selects the type of the substrate 2 to be fed according to the substrate feeding capable/incapable condition of a second next component mounting device 6 at the downstream side when counted from the screen print device 5.
