TERMINAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform water cutoff on a terminal in which a shaft-shaped terminal is connected to an electrical wire and configured so that the drawing direction of the electrical wire is different from the connection direction of a mating terminal.SOLUTION: A terminal 1 has a shaft-like terminal 10, an electrical wire 20 and a sealing member C which is hardened at normal temperature. The shaft-like terminal 10 extends like a shaft, and is connected to a mating terminal at one end portion thereof. The other end portion 10B of the shaft-like terminal 10 has a side wall 10C which has a liquid reservoir portion 12 recessed therein along the extending direction so as to surround the liquid reservoir portion 12, and a cut-out portion 16 formed by partially cutting out the side wall 10C. A core wire 24 is drawn out from an insulting cover 22 at one end portion of the electrical wire 20, and mounted in the liquid reservoir portion 12 and connected to the shaft-like terminal 10 while the drawing direction is intersected to the extending direction of the shaft-like terminal 10. The end portion of the insulating cover 22 at one end portion 20A thereof is inserted into the deepest portion of the cutout portion 16, and brought into contact with the opening edge of th cutout portion 16. The sealing member C is injected into the liquid reservoir portion 12 so that the core wire 24 is immersed in the sealing member C.
