PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle which enables two heating means for heating (a condenser 13 and a heater core 14) to be connected in series and located close to each other.SOLUTION: A housing 2 of a heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit 1 forms a draft air duct therein. Two detachable ports 31, 32 are formed on surfaces of the housing 2 which are different from each other. A condenser 13 of a heat pump cycle is inserted from the detachable port 31 on a lower surface of the housing 2 to be attached to the HVAC unit. A heater core 14 is inserted from the detachable port 32 on a side surface of the housing 2 to be attached to the HVAC unit. An electric heater may be attached instead of the heater core 14.
