PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas-cleaning catalyst that can realize better gas-cleaning performance.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas-cleaning catalyst 1 for cleaning automobile exhaust gas comprises a first cleaning member 2 containing alumina that supports copper and cerium, and a second cleaning member 3 disposed adjacent to the first cleaning member 2 on the upstream side of passing direction of exhaust gas toward the first cleaning member 2 and containing noble metal, and the content of copper in the first cleaning member 2 is set at 2 to 10 g per automobile exhaust gas 1 L.
