PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection system and image projection devices that can specify the position relationship between a plurality of image projection devices without the need of a device or equipment other than the image projection devices for the recognition of the positions of the image projection devices.SOLUTION: An image projection device 2a includes a contact detection unit 201a that detects the contact with a contact detection unit 201b of an image projection device 2b, and creates direction information indicating the position of the presence of the image projection device 2a relative to the image projection device 2b. The image projection device 2a includes a position relationship specification unit 202a that specifies the position relationship between the image projection device 2a and the image projection device 2b on the basis of the direction information on the image projection device 2a and the direction information on the image projection device 2b received from the contact detection unit 201a.
