PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately correct color shift at each of a plurality of image formation speeds even when the tendency of color shift is different for each of the plurality of image formation speeds.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 controls an image forming unit 1 and a pattern sensor 112 to perform formation of a plurality of patterns and measurement of a plurality of patterns at first image formation speed at a first timing where a second detection condition is satisfied. The image forming apparatus 100 controls the image forming unit 1 and pattern sensor 112 to perform formation of a plurality of patterns and measurement of a plurality of patterns at second image formation speed at a second timing where a first detection condition is satisfied.
