PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform lock release of the lock member of a lock mechanism in a variable valve timing mechanism in engine acceleration, and perform phase control as early as possible.SOLUTION: In a case where detection oil pressure detected by an oil pressure sensor increases, in lock release operation of the lock member of a lock mechanism (YES in determination of a step S22), the opening of a hydraulic control valve is adjusted according to the detection oil pressure, and supply oil pressure to an advance actuation chamber or delay actuation chamber for changing the phase angle of a cam shaft with respect to a crank shaft is made lower than that in non-adjustment of the opening (step S24). |
