PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can reliably detect, without errors, turn-on and off of each of two interlock switches connected in series to a power source line.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a first interlock switch 80 that is turned on and off according to opening and closing of a first cover and connects, to a switch-to-switch power source line, a power source voltage when being turned on and a detection voltage lower than the power source voltage when being turned off; a second interlock switch 82 that turns on and off a switch-to-load power source line according to opening and closing of a second cover; a first comparison unit 83 that compares a voltage Va of the switch-to-switch power source line with a threshold; a second comparison unit 84 that compares a voltage Vb of the switch-to-load power source line with a threshold; a threshold setting unit 85 that sets thresholds of the first comparison unit 83 and second comparison unit 84; and a control unit 3 that detects opening and closing of the first cover and second cover according to results of the comparison by the first comparison unit 83 and second comparison unit 84. |
