The present invention relates to a spinning reel wherein in the spinning reel, which does not rotate in a line release direction, a rotation of a handle in any direction is allowed to be transferred to a rotor at all times without operating an operation member. The spinning reel (100) has a handle (1), a reel body (2), a spool shaft (8), a spool (4), a rotor (3), a rotation transmission mechanism (5) and a rotation control mechanism (7). The rotation transmission mechanism (5) includes: a drive shaft (10) connected to the handle (1) in a way that allows the handle to be able to rotate integrally; a drive gear (11) capable of rotating integrally in conjunction with the drive shaft (10); and a pinion gear (12) disposed on an outer circumference side of the spool shaft (8) and engaged with the drive gear (11). The rotation control mechanism (7) is arranged between the handle (1) and the rotor (3); transmits, when the handle (1) rotates in a line retrieving direction, a rotation from the handle (1) to the rotor (3); does not transfer, when the rotor (3) rotates, a rotation of the rotor (3) to the handle (1); and in addition, controls the rotor (3) to be able to rotate freely. |
