The present invention relates to a device for increasing an engine output limit in a limp-home mode and a control method using the same. The present invention controls an engine to raise an output limit when it is determined that a vehicle drives on a slope inclined at a certain angle or more when the vehicle drives in a limp-home mode due to malfunction in order to prevent, in advance, the engine from being turned off on the slope.
