The present invention relates to an apparatus for providing advertisements for a user. The apparatus includes: a hierarchical interest category managing part which is formed of hierarchically classified interest categories, and manages a hierarchical interest category where at least one keyword is mapped in each of the interest categories; a user interest extracting part which extracts at least one user keyword based on a user log, extracts an interest category corresponding to each of the user keywords from the hierarchical interest category, determining at least one of the extracted interest category as a user interest category; and an advertisement providing part which provides an advertisement related to the user interest category for a user terminal.
