The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing an Acrosorium polyneurum Okamura extract as an active ingredient having preventative and treatment effects on inflammatory diseases. The Acrosorium polyneurum Okamura extract of the present invention inhibits inflammatory cytokine production such as IL-12 p40, IL-6 and TNF-α, inhibits a phosphorylation of a MAP kinase such as JNK and p38, inhibits NF-κB activation by suppressing a degradation and phosphorylation of IκBα and can be used for preventing and treating autoimmune diseases and septic shock by inhibiting nitric oxide (NO) synthesis in a macrophage.
