PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an elevator device capable of effectively preventing contact and hooking of a long object with respect to a protection object in a hoistway, even when the long object largely vibrates in resonance with the vibration of a building caused by a long-period earthquake ground motion and strong wind. ! SOLUTION: An elevator device in which a long object including a main rope for suspending an elevator car and a balance weight in a well bucket manner is arranged in a hoistway, includes: a long object sensor for monitoring presence/absence of entering of the long object into a monitoring area including a protection object; a long object removing mechanism for removing the long object entered the monitoring area to the outside of the monitoring area; and a control unit for performing driving control of the long object removing mechanism.
