A method and device for adding a multimedia file, which are used for retrieving multimedia from a great deal of multimedia data and adding same, thereby saving the search time and improving the search accuracy rate. The method comprises: acquiring a character text; parsing the character text to obtain a key retrieval phrase; according to the key retrieval phrase, retrieving a multimedia list matching the key retrieval phrase in a pre-set multimedia library; calculating the degree of confidence of a multimedia file in the multimedia list; and if it is determined that the degree of confidence of the multimedia file in the multimedia list satisfies a pre-set condition, adding the multimedia file of which the degree of confidence satisfies the pre-set condition to the text. |
