The present application provides a method, device and system for notifying a terminal type supported by a current cell, enabling a UE to identify as soon as possible the terminal type supported by the current cell. The method comprises: carrying preset indication information in a downlink signal, the indication information being used to indicate a terminal type supported by a current cell, the preset indication information being pre-appointed by a network side and a terminal, and the indication information being a synchronization sequence or a first indication bit for indicating the supported terminal type; and sending the downlink signal to the terminal.
