PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar battery having electrodes less in light shielding loss and low in resistance.SOLUTION: A solar battery comprises: a solar battery cell having a pn junction; a light-receiving-side electrode having grid electrodes 7 provided on a light-receiving surface A of the solar battery cell to extend at fixed intervals in one direction, and serving to collect electric charges resulting from photoelectric conversion; and a backside electrode 8 provided on a rear surface B of the solar battery cell, which is opposed to the light-receiving surface A. The grid electrodes 7 each include: a first seed surface 6A in contact with the light-receiving surface A of the solar battery cell; a second seed surface 6B provided upright to the first seed surface 6A, and connected with the first seed surface 6A; and a plating layer in contact with the first and second seed surfaces 6A and 6B. |
