PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method of producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene(1234yf) using only easy-to-use raw materials.SOLUTION: A method of producing 1234yf comprises a step (a) of bringing 1,1,2,3,3,3-hexafluoropropene (1216) in contact with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to produce 1,1,2,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane (236ea), a step (b) of dehydrofluorinating 236ea to produce 1,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene (1225ye), a step (c) of bringing 1225ye in contact with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to produce 1,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropane (245eb) and a step (d) of dehydrofluorinating 245eb to produce 1234yf, carried out in this order. |
