PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical analysis method enabling point-of-care inspection for executing optical analysis of an analyte with a disposable microchip having no light source. ! SOLUTION: In an optical analysis method, with portable terminal equipment having an operation unit, a light reception unit and a display unit displaying the processing result of the operation unit, a microchip having no light source and having a light introduction unit and a light derivation unit irradiates with light an analyte held in an optical path communicating from the light introduction unit to the light derivation unit, to thereby perform analysis of the analyte. The optical analysis method includes the steps of: preparing the optical path guiding light emitted from the light derivation unit of the microchip to the light reception unit; and irradiating the light introduction unit with light. !
