PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems, methodologies and devices for reducing power consumption of mobile devices.SOLUTION: A mobile device 600 utilizes a sleep mode controller 202 that facilitates selecting and/or switching to a desired sleep mode on the basis partly of predefined sleep mode criteria. The sleep modes include a non-sleep mode, a light sleep mode, and/or a deep sleep mode. The mobile device 600 employs an analyzer 206 to evaluate information related to explicit signals, implicit signals, and/or the current sleep mode to determine whether a condition of a transition to a different sleep mode is met on the basis of the sleep mode criteria. If the condition is met, the sleep mode controller 202 prompts the mobile device 600 to transition from the current sleep mode. |
