PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device by which automatic driving can be continued without giving unease to a driver even if a neighboring lane is congested, a driving support method and a program. ! SOLUTION: If it is determined that a neighboring lane neighboring to a traveling lane of a present vehicle is congested at a front side of the present vehicle and any preceding vehicle is not detected in front of the present vehicle on the traveling lane of the present vehicle during automatic driving, a first traveling route is set along which the present vehicle travels within the traveling lane of the present vehicle while substantially overlapping a lane boundary line on the traveling lane of the present vehicle at an opposite side to the neighboring lane with a first-side end portion of the present vehicle at an opposite side to the neighboring lane.
