PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeposition coating apparatus and method capable of solving the problem of temporary reduction of a voltage applied to a vehicle body to ensure the thickness of a rocker part of the vehicle body.SOLUTION: An electrodeposition coating apparatus 100 having a first electrodeposition region R1 in which an electrodeposition tank 10 performs electrodeposition coating on to a vehicle body W by setting an applied voltage of electrodes 31, 32 at a first voltage V1, and a second electrodeposition region R2 for performing electrodeposition coating by setting an applied voltage of the electrodes 31, 32 at a second voltage V2 further has an intermediate electrodeposition region Rm disposed with a bottom part electrode 32 between the first electrodeposition region R1 and the second electrodeposition region R2, where the applied voltage of the electrodes 31, 32 disposed in the first electrodeposition region R1 and the intermediate electrodeposition region Rm is controlled at the first voltage V1 until the vehicle body W enters the second electrodeposition region R2 after entering the intermediate electrodeposition region Rm, and the applied voltage of the electrodes 31, 32 disposed in the intermediate electrodeposition region Rm and the second electrodeposition region R2 is controlled at the second voltage V2 until the vehicle body W exits from the intermediate electrodeposition region Rm after entering the second electrodeposition region R2. |
