<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve low power consumption and reduction of strains on eyes, which are advantages of display on a color electronic paper, as well as image reproducibility and easiness for recognition of information, which are advantages of display on a transparent display device.SOLUTION: A display device is provided, which includes: a first display panel that is turned into transparent in a non-display state; an adjustment panel that is disposed on a back face of the first display panel and can adjust a transmittance for light; a second display panel that employs an electronic paper system and is disposed on a back face of the adjustment panel; determination means that determines by each pixel region whether display is performed in the first display panel or in the second display panel, based on the contents of an input image; and control means that renders the first display panel into a non-display state in a region where the determination means determines to display on the second display panel, and renders the adjustment panel into a transmissive state.</p> |
