PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for application of split filtering to a video, while suppressing the processing time. ! SOLUTION: Nine input images N-4 through N+4 including a processing image N and an image temporally continuous thereto are inputted, and filtered with filter coefficients k0-k8, respectively. Pixels at the positions corresponding to the filter coefficients are read, respectively, from intermediate images subjected to filtering, and a composite image corresponding to the input image N is generated.
