A non-transitory processor-readable medium stores code representing instructions to be executed by a processor. The code includes code to cause the processor to receive, from a first compute device, a request for a token associated with a transaction between the first compute device and a second compute device. The code also defines an attribute value associated with the first compute device in response to receiving the request. The code further selects a token from a set of predefined tokens at least based on the attribute value associated with the first compute device and the attribute value associated with the second compute device. The code further sends a signal representing the token to the first compute device such that an association between the first compute device and the second compute device can be defined based on the token.
