PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which comprises carrying out a hydrothermal crushing treatment and solid-liquid separation of woody biomass and herbaceous biomass consisting of lignocellulose and recovering low molecular lignin decomposition products from the residue produced in enzymatic saccharification of the solid content of the solid-liquid separation. ! SOLUTION: A method of producing lignin decomposition products includes a step of treating the residue after enzymatic saccharification through hydrothermal reaction and recovering the solid content by solid-liquid separation of the treated product and a step of extracting low molecular lignin decomposition products soluble in organic solvents from the solid content. !
