PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sheet material from being folded due to collision between the sheet material of a cleaning unit for cleaning a surface of an image carrer and a step difference formed in an overlapping part of a reinforcement material at an end of the image carrier, with a simple configuration, when the belt-like image carrier is reversely rotated. ! SOLUTION: A reinforcement material 200 having an overlapping part is arranged at an end of a surface of an image carrier 50. A cleaning unit 53 for cleaning the surface of the image carrier 50 includes: a cleaning member 532 for removing toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier 50; a sheet material 531 arranged upstream of the cleaning member 532 in a rotation direction of the image carrier 50, along a width direction of the image carrier; side seals 534 which are arranged at the side of both ends of the sheet material 531 along a longitudinal direction of the image carrier 50.
