PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce difference in temperature among regions inside a cooling cap, even if a cooling medium passage is long inside the cooling cap for cooling the scalp. ! SOLUTION: A scalp cooling apparatus 11 includes: a cooling cap 19 for attaching on the head; a cooling medium passage that is formed inside the cooling cap and that extends between a first cooling medium port and a second cooling medium port; a cooler 15 for cooling the cooling medium; a reversing mechanism 21 for cooling medium flowing direction that selectively supplies the cooling medium cooled by the cooler 15 to one of the first and the second cooling medium ports and that discharges the cooling medium flowed in the cooling medium passage from the other of the first and the second cooling medium ports; and a controller 23 that controls the operation of the reversing mechanism 21 for cooling medium flowing direction.
