PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new elevator device which reduces vibration of a car or both the vibration and noise occurring at least when the car in ascending movement and a balance weight pass each other. ! SOLUTION: At least on a side surface of an upper side (rear side of travelling direction) of a balance weight, an air supply opening is formed for supplying air toward a space between the car and the balance weight from a space between a hoistway and the balance weight when a car and the balance weight pass each other. Thereby, when the car and the balance weight pass each other, the air in the space between the balance weight and the hoistway is supplied to the space between the balance weight and the car by the air supply opening, so that a pressure in the space between the car and the balance weight can be increased, and this enables vibration of the car to be reduced. !
