PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the possibility of insufficient holding of a chip by a holder in groove cutting. ! SOLUTION: A cutting insert in one embodiment includes: a top surface, a bottom surface, side surfaces, a front cutter, and a pair of side cutters. A pair of lateral side surfaces on the side surfaces respectively include: flat first lateral side surfaces adjacent to front side surfaces; and flat second lateral side surfaces adjacent to the front side surfaces via the first lateral side surfaces. In a top view, a crossing angle of virtual straight lines extended from a pair of second edge lines is larger than a crossing angle of virtual straight lines extended from a pair of first edge lines.
