The invention relates to an electric drive system, comprising a 3n-phase electric machine, n>l, which has at least two polyphase phase windings, a first inverter of which the output terminals are connected to the phase terminals of a first one of the three-phase windings of the electric machine, said drive system also comprising a second inverter which is connected in parallel with the first inverter and of which the output terminals are connected to the phase terminals of a second one of the polyphase phase windings of the electric machine. The drive system further comprises a DC voltage source which is connected by a first output terminal to a first input terminal of the first inverter and by a second output terminal to a first input connection of the second inverter, a first DC voltage intermediate circuit which is coupled between the input terminals of the first inverter, and a second DC voltage intermediate circuit which is coupled between the input terminals of the second inverter, wherein a second input terminal of the first inverter and a second input terminal of the second inverter are connected to one another without being earthed, such that the first inverter and the second inverter are connected in series. |
