PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle lighting appliance which can enhance the assembling performance of light distribution control switching means.SOLUTION: A vehicle lighting appliance 1 comprises: a movable shade 6; a rotatable shaft 7 attached with the movable shade 6; a return spring which energizes the shaft 7 in a one-rotation direction; light distribution control switching means which includes an electric motor (drive source) 9 for rotating the shaft 7 while withstanding an energization force of the return spring; a heatsink 10 which dissipates heat generated by a light source; and a housing 2 which accommodates the light distribution control switching means. A recessed hook 13 for fitting and holding the shaft 7 and temporarily fixing the shaft is formed at the housing 2, and the shaft 7 which is temporarily fixed to the recessed hook 13 is rotatably fixed and held to the housing 2 by the heatsink 10 which is attached to the housing 2.
