<p>Upon receiving a particular data unit by a receiving layer of a wireless device, it is detected that a previous data unit earlier in sequence to the particular data unit has not yet been received by the receiving layer. A timer is started in response to the detecting, where the timer has a time-out period that is variable dependent upon a parameter associated with receipt of the particular data unit. Upon expiration of the timer based on the timeout period, the receiving layer generates an error indication.</p> |
